With just a few weeks remaining until Kathryn and I start a couple weeks of intensive French lessons, I thought it would be a good idea to review the handwritten notes from my last intensive French class, which was just twelve short years ago. Unfortunately, the time I set aside yesterday for reviewing the notes was mostly consumed by finding them.
On the bright side, in the process of searching for a few notebooks inside boxes I’ve only rarely opened since my last move ten years ago, I found a notebook containing roughly 80 pages of handwritten journal entries from my ten weeks of travels in Europe in the summer of 2000. It came as a pleasant surprise because I thought my reflections from the trip were entirely electronic, and I thought I had lost them forever. The journal entries would likely have been the basis for anything I published on the now-long-defunct Yahoo! Clubs that summer.
Although I don’t presently have the time to get the newly discovered journal entries backfilled into the blog, I’ll see what I can do to get it done before the end of the year.
