We’re having lunch at the bus terminal in Montevideo, Uruguay, waiting for a bus to Colonia del Sacramento, which will transfer us to a high-speed ferry to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Buying the ferry tickets online was a challenge I found far too overwhelming. Even when I could read the website, I’d get through all the screens and find out the price was in the wrong currency of intended only for Uruguayan nationals. After an hour of trying yesterday afternoon, we decided to get an Uber to the sales office. There we found an agent who spoke English, and we concluded the transaction in about five minutes. Between the Uber ride, the time with the agent, and a city bus back to our guest house, I think we spent less time than I wasted on the internet. Lesson learned.
