Statue of Leif Eriksson in Reykjavik, Iceland

This larger-than-life statue of Leif Eriksson was a gift from the United States to the people of Iceland on the occasion of the 1,000th anniversary of the founding of the Icelandic parliament. It sits in front of the iconic Hallgrimskirkja church, although the statue was apparently erected in this prominent location years before the church was built.
