I put this photo of Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral on my blog many years ago. In light of the news out of Paris today, I thought I’d share it again.
Kathryn took the photo in September 2007 during our first visit to Paris together, a little over a year before we were married. We were enjoying a pleasant late evening stroll along the Seine at the time.

That’s some lovely architecture! What’s up in Paris?
Sadly, this beautiful, historic cathedral is on fire right now.
Such a tragedy! It seems they’re starting to get the fire under control now, so hopefully they will be able to salvage at least part of it. 🙁
I’m hopeful that not all is lost. I read that the Crown of Thorns was saved. I’ll keep the safety of the firefighters in my prayers.
I feel extremely blessed to have been in the church a few times with you as well as having had the opportunity to attend a Mass there. Something I will never forget.
I feel the same way.
It is so very sad that Notre Dame is no longer the beauty that she was. She was a treasure.
I’m optimistic she’ll be restored to her previous grandeur. I’m less optimistic I’ll live long enough to see it.
I am not very optimistic at all that I will see her restored. I am so blessed to have been able to see her once.
