For the sake of completeness, here’s one last trip status update, roughly ten hours late: We’re home.
We missed our connection in Minneapolis by minutes. It looks like our baggage didn’t make it either. Luckily there’s another flight to Phoenix in a couple hours. We had a confirmed reservation on the later flight before we even stepped off the flight from Paris, but unfortunately we no longer have assigned seats.
Another delay on the ground in Paris. I just saw the first officer walking through business class. This can’t be good.
We’ve boarded our flight in Paris, but it’s still parked at the gate. It’s just as well, since we opened our Delta apps to discover our bags are indeed on the airplane, but they didn’t arrive there until four minutes after the flight was scheduled to depart. Not much time for an update. We’re at the airport for our return flight for the U.S. A few minutes ago we were told the flight would board a half-hour late, and now it’s boarding, so I’m not sure what’s up. Possibly the last status update for a while.
As it turned out, we weren’t on the tarmac long, and within a few minutes, I was in the terminal and at the gate for my connecting flight.
